The latest Furoshiki from the Link Collective are these 2 lovely designs "Mountain Blossom" and "Angles" created by Brooklyn artist Leah Duncan. Both really great designs for Furoshiki - multi cloths that can be used as wrapping cloth, carrying bag, scarf, picnic mat, wall art and so on! All of the LINK Furoshiki are hand printed in Japan by Japanese craftsmen using traditional techniques.
Mountain Blossom Japanese Furoshiki Cloth by Leah Duncan x Link Collective |
Mountain Blossom was designed by Brooklyn artist Leah Duncan and she says "design was inspired by the famous cherry blossom mountain view in Japan at sunrise. The elements are subtle, which creates a delicate and abstract pattern when the furoshiki is wrapped, folded, and worn"

Angles is also designed by Leah Duncan - "Inspired by the angles and shapes of Japanese origami techniques, the elements of this design weave around the fabric to create a bold geometric pattern that reflects my roots, mimicking elements of the traditional tapestry designs found in the southwestern United States"
WHAT IS FUROSHIKI??
Furoshiki (風呂敷, fu-rosh-ki) is a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth. It can be used in multiple ways, for bundling or gift-wrapping all sorts of things – from lunch boxes or books, to watermelons and bottles of wine. You could even tie it into a handbag or use it as a scarf, a baby blanket or even a wall hanging. One simple and beautiful piece of cloth and the list is endless. Tie it and see!
Each Furoshiki comes with a leaflet that includes how-to-fold-furoshiki instructions. There are many more wrapping techniques for Furoshiki! |
You can make bags from a piece of Furoshiki cloth on its own, but you can also use leather carry straps to make quick and easy Furoshiki bags.
